Rope Piece

Rope Piece is a Vistors work created with Rebecca Bogue, a participatory piece investigating bodies and borders. It works scenographically with a large boating rope to create a series of boundaries which the dancers position themselves as, with or separated from one another. It focuses on living in the UK and London. It looks at the limits, lines and boundaries that two women experience living in London. It is also a community dance work that invites recent participants to create the second half of the work through workshops, creating questions and action with the rope and their bodies. With these groups, we ask the questions about their identity that generate performance responses through movement. We ask the participants what is wrong with our questions and what questions they want to ask. Answers will involve movement, rope and text.
